Email thatactually lands.

Your list is the only audience you own. We build the flows, the broadcast calendar, and the deliverability stack that turn it into 25–40% of your revenue. Klaviyo, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Customer.io. No spray-and-pray. No "we sent it, they didn't open it, their fault."

The thesis · 01

Your list is the only audience you own.

Meta throttles you. Google re-ranks you. TikTok forgets you. Email is the one channel where a subscriber is still a subscriber tomorrow. When run properly, it's the highest-ROI line in the P&L — the DMA still clocks it at 36:1.

But most brands treat it like a monthly newsletter chore. A Mailchimp template, a discount code, a send, a shrug. No flows past the welcome. No segmentation past "all subscribers." No deliverability monitoring past "it didn't bounce."

We build Creative Scope's email practice around the part most agencies skip: the flow architecture, the deliverability stack, and the weekly broadcast rhythmthat turns a quiet list into 30%+ of revenue.

✕ Email isn't right for you if —
  • Your list is under 500 subscribers and you have no growth plan.
  • You're unwilling to send more than once a month.
  • You want us to buy or rent a list (we won't).
  • Your product has no repeat-purchase or retention angle at all.

We'll tell you if that's you — and point you somewhere better. Bad-fit email programs drag down sender reputation, not just revenue.

What we run · 06 Disciplines

The full program,
not just the sends.

Campaigns are 30% of the work. The other 70% is the flow architecture that runs while you sleep, the deliverability stack that gets it into the inbox, and the segmentation that makes every send relevant.

01Automation

Flow architecture

The automated backbone: welcome, abandoned cart, browse abandonment, post-purchase, winback, VIP, sunset. Built once, monitored weekly, A/B tested forever.

  • ✓ Welcome + double opt-in
  • ✓ Cart + browse recovery
  • ✓ Post-purchase + review
  • ✓ Winback · VIP · Sunset
KPI: flow-attributed revenue
02Broadcast

Campaign calendar

A promotional + editorial send plan mapped to your merchandising, launches, and content. Never another 'what do we send this week' panic on Tuesday morning.

  • ✓ Monthly calendar planning
  • ✓ Promo + editorial mix
  • ✓ Launch-window stacking
  • ✓ Holiday + sale sequences
KPI: campaign RPR, list fatigue
03List growth

List growth systems

On-site popups, lead magnets, referral loops, and post-purchase capture that actually respects the user. Quality over quantity — list volume without intent is just future unsubs.

  • ✓ Popup + embedded forms
  • ✓ Lead magnets + gated content
  • ✓ Referral + advocacy loops
  • ✓ Quiz + preference capture
KPI: qualified-subscriber CPA
04Audience

Segmentation & RFM

Recency, frequency, monetary scoring plus behavioural segments. Engaged-90, VIP, churn-risk, product-affinity — every send goes to the right subset, not the whole list.

  • ✓ RFM + lifecycle scoring
  • ✓ Behavioural + predictive
  • ✓ Product-affinity segments
  • ✓ Suppression + exclusion
KPI: send-to-engagement ratio
05Infrastructure

Deliverability stack

SPF, DKIM, DMARC, BIMI. Domain warming, dedicated IP planning, blocklist monitoring, and the Microsoft / Gmail rule changes nobody reads until they're already in spam.

  • ✓ SPF · DKIM · DMARC setup
  • ✓ Domain + IP warming
  • ✓ Blocklist + reputation
  • ✓ Gmail + Outlook tuning
Built once, watched always
06Optimisation

A/B testing + analytics

Subject lines, preview text, content blocks, send time, from-name. Structured tests with clear winners, documented so next month's sends start ahead of this month's.

  • ✓ Subject + preview tests
  • ✓ Content + layout tests
  • ✓ Send-time optimisation
  • ✓ LTV + cohort attribution
Output: 4+ tests / mo

Industry averages are the floor, not the ceiling. These are the bands we've seen across 2024–2026 — baseline lists on one end, properly-segmented programs with clean lists on the other. Opens are directional only (iOS 15 MPP inflates them).

Common misconceptions · 06

Things people keep saying
that aren't true.

Email is one of the most mis-understood channels in marketing. Here's what we actually see, running weekly sends across dozens of programs.

01
Claim

"Email is dead."

Reality

The DMA still clocks email ROI at roughly 36:1 — higher than any paid channel. What's dead is untargeted, unsegmented, once-a-month newsletters. Properly-run programs now drive 25–40% of ecommerce revenue, routinely.

02
Claim

"More sends = more revenue."

Reality

Up to a point. Past it, unsubs and spam complaints spike, inbox placement drops, and revenue-per-recipient collapses. We pace against engagement segments — VIPs can tolerate 3–4 sends/week, lapsed subs shouldn't see one in 30 days.

03
Claim

"Open rate is our KPI."

Reality

It hasn't been a clean signal since Apple's Mail Privacy Protection rolled out in 2021. Apple Mail now auto-'opens' every email on arrival. We use CTR, click-to-open, conversion rate, and revenue-per-recipient as the real scoreboard.

04
Claim

"We already have Mailchimp, so we're set."

Reality

Having the ESP is like owning a camera — it doesn't make you a photographer. The tool matters less than the flow architecture, the segmentation, the deliverability stack, and the weekly send rhythm. We run Klaviyo, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Customer.io — the tool is the last decision, not the first.

05
Claim

"Discounts are what make email work."

Reality

Discounts lift the current send and train the list to wait for the next one. We blend discount campaigns with editorial, education, and pure-content sends — the open-to-unsub ratio matters more than any one week's click-through.

06
Claim

"If it's in spam, the user will find it."

Reality

They won't. Gmail and Outlook now filter promotions and spam aggressively, and users rarely check either tab. Inbox placement is the real battle — which is why SPF, DKIM, DMARC, list hygiene, and sender reputation are half the job.

FAQ · The honest answers

What people
actually ask.

Klaviyo is our default for ecommerce — we're a Klaviyo partner and run the majority of DTC programs there. For B2B we run Customer.io or HubSpot. Mailchimp works for smaller lists and editorial newsletters. If you're on another ESP (Brevo, ActiveCampaign, MailerLite) we can operate inside it; if you're on the wrong one for your stage, we'll say so and help migrate.
